FP - TABS (Ointment and Tablets) is a product of SBL's Research and Development and is a combination of well proven drugs of homeopathy therapeutics to have pain relieving, anticonstipatory and haemostatic properties which help in curing anal fissures and piles (Haemorrhoids) by reducing pain and venous congestion of the anus. Proctoscopy shows that there is considerable shrinkage of pile mass in 1st and 2nd degree piles with FP - Ointment.

Action of Individual Components
Hamamelis Virginica - Antihaemorrhagic, astringent and anti-inflammatory. Specific indications : Haemorrhoids and colitis.(British Herbal Pharmacopoeia,1983).
Hydrastis Canadensis - Stimulant to involuntary muscle, antihaemorrhagic and laxative(BHP, 1983).
Aesculus Hippocastanum - Useful in Haemorrhoids with sharp shooting pains up the back and relieves burning in anus with chills up and down back.
Ratanhia - Cures protrusion of haemorrhoids and fissures of anus.
Paeonia Officinalis - Relieves biting and itching in anus and swollen orifice. Cures haemorrhoids, anal fissures and ulceration of anus and perineum.
Viburnum Prunifolium -Spasmolytic and astringent(BHP, 1983).
Aloe Socotrina - Cures burning in anus and rectum, protrusion of haemorrhoids. Restores the power of sphincter ani. Brings relief to portal congestion.
Indications
Painful or bleeding piles, fissures and associated pains, constipation and backache.
Contraindications
No known contraindications.
Dosage
Application of FP - ointment : Locally twice daily for 1-2 weeks, using the applicator if internal administration is required.
2 Tablets of FP - Tabs taken orally every three hours daily for 1-2 weeks potenciates the local action of ointment.
Presentation
FP - tube with nozzle for external use only available in 25g pack.
FP - tablets(250mg each) - for oral use - available in 25g. pack.
