Adhatoda zeylanica (Vasaka) : It has bronchodilator properties, making it useful in various cough related problems. Vasaka contains Vasicine & Vasicinone that liquefy sputum in tenacious cough. Helps avert frequent attacks of cough.
Clinical Information :
Indications: Expectorant
Dosage: One capsule twice a day. Discuss the supplements and medication you take with your health care provider.
Mode Of Action :Vasicine & Vasicinone are 2 major active compound found in Vasaka, which possess bronchodilatory activity and inhibit allergen – induced bronchial obstruction.Vasaka exhibits antitussive activity, which may be due to the action of vasicinone & vasicinol, which have activity in the cerebral medulla by active as codeine.
