Boswellia serrata (Shallaki) :Boswellic acid is one of the principal constituents. A useful herb for optimim joint health. It has an anti-inflammatory & analgesic properties. Shallaki inhibits prostaglandin E-2 synthesis and is free from any side effect like gastric disturbances or ulcerogenic activity associated with other non-steroidal or anti-arthritic drugs. Shallaki improves blood circulation and blood supply to joints and restores integrity of blood vessels obliterated by spasms.
Clinical Information :
Indications : Joint Health.
Dosage :One capsules twice a day. Discuss the supplements and medication you take with your health care provider.
Mode Of Action : Boswellic acid, the major constituent of boswellia, is thought to contribute to most of the herb's pharmacological activities. Boswellic acid inhibits 5-lipoxygenase selectively and has anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic and antiproliferative effects. Boswellia reduces chemically induced edema and inflammation. In addition, it does not cause gastric ulcers in animals. This suggests that the action of boswellic acid is through other mechanisms than the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
